Blending is the winemakers most basic tool and is used throughout the wine world. It is utilized in many of the world’s finest wines such as First-Growth Chateau’s of Bordeaux, the Grange, Australia’s finest wine, and OPUS One, California’s finest wine. All of these wines are multi-varietal blends, where the exact proportion of each single varietal is varied each year, to optimize the quality and longevity of the wine.

Union wines are blends of the best premium wines from Ontario, sourced from the best growers and wineries in the province. For the red and the white, four grape varietals have been brought together, each grape complimenting the next subtly or dramatically to create premium wines with character and complexity.

Blending is analogous to a violinist and his/her orchestra. If a solo violinist is having an off day, the experience will not be pleasurable, but if the rest of the orchestra chips in with an outstanding performance, the end result will be a winning effort.
